Sixth Year

Geography Field Trip

The 6th years as part of their Geography Leaving Certificate course went on a field trip to Kippure Estate, Co.Wicklow. Here they put many skills they learned in the classroom into practice. They used various pieces of equipment to carry out a variety of investigations along the course of the River Liffey. They then spent some time analysing and writing up their results. The highlight was definitely trying to get the waders on and off!!! It was a very enjoyable day for all!

As part of their Craft and Design task, 6S and Ms Keenan visited the NCBI to see Terry Cartin in the Ceramics workshop. The students were undertaking research for their Ceramic tile wall panel group task. "Older" (!) visitors to our school may remember the wonderful ceramic and screen print wall panels displayed in the reception area. Graduation 2014

Our 6th years graduated in style on Wednesday 21st May. A beautiful Mass attended by students, parents and teachers was celebrated in ChildVision Church at 7pm.  The school choir provided the music and the soloists were mainly from our cohort of graduates who also did the readings and the Prayers of the Faithful. As their theme for the evening our 6th years chose ‘New Beginnings’ and many of the words spoken on the evening echoed this idea. After the mass we all retired to ChildVision Hall where the Parents’ Committee had prepared a great spread of tasty treats.
