Fifth Years attended ESB Head Office in East Wall on Thursday 2nd February for a “Day in the Life” seminar. They interviewed five ESB employees from different departments and were given an opportunity to make an LED Torch after some very tasty refreshments. The day was organised by Anne Cooney (E.S.B.) and Cliona Fitzsimons (Business in the Community). All students benefited from the experience and were very grateful to all who gave up their time on the day.

On completing their studies, students may progress to Universities and Institutes of Technology and or directly to employment. Career News - Access to Apprenticeship Programme

This might be of interest/ relevant to some students in the school.

The Access to Apprenticeship Programme is being developed on a pilot basis by DIT’s College of Engineering and Built Environment in partnership with J.P Morgan and ESB. Access to Apprenticeship aims to support the transition of students (16-24 years old) from areas of economic disadvantage into an apprenticeship scheme.

Career Guidance - Mr Digan

The 6th Years attended the Higher Options event organised by the Irish Times in conjunction with the Institute of Guidance Counsellors (IGC) on Friday 18th September in the RDS.  They also attended the Education Fair on Thursday 15th October 2015 in Parnell’s GAA Club, Coolock.  On this occasion they were joined by class 6S who are following the Leaving Certificate Applied Programme.  There were representatives from the Universities, Institutes of Technology and Colleges of Further Education available to speak to our students about courses, careers and alternative progression routes in the
