Rosmini Girls Under-15 Debut Soccer Match

Rosmini Girls Soccer Team

Rosmini’s girls under 15 soccer team played their first match of the season on Thursday 5th February. They played a very experienced and unbeaten Manor House team. Manor House played well in the first half. Rosmini took their time getting to know each other and their positions before we felt comfortable. Manor House won the first half despite great performances by goalkeeper Bella, defender Kate and Captain Georgia for Rosmini.

Following their victorious campaign in the group stages of the Dublin East competition Rosmini U-16 boys played the semi-final on December 6th 2013. Their opponents were Adamstown Community College who had also won their group.

Rosser had a very strong start with Matt Treacy and the Maloney brothers, Adam and Mark, getting valuable points on the board. Rosmini led 19-10 after the first quarter.

As soon as Adamstown started to get back in the game, Matt Treacy scored some great three-pointers to keep the teams apart.

Final score ROSMINI 49 Adamstown 39

The first years today (13 November 2013) enjoyed a workshop on robotics presented by the DCU Physics department as part of Science Week. At the end of the session, robots designed by students participated in a grand battle.
Students learned about physics topics such as electricity, motors, movement and vibration. Students worked in teams of 2 or 3 and all found it a very enjoyable learning experience.
