Students attend play in Smock Alley Theatre

As part of the Leaving Certificate Applied course, class 6S went to see God Has No Country in Dublin's Smock Alley Theatre.
Students were blown away by writer and actor Donal Courtney's one-man performance of Monsignor Hugh O Flaherty, the Irish priest who helped 6,500 Jews hide from the Nazis in WWII. Students were lucky enough to speak to Courtney afterwards and were given insights into the life of a theatre actor and writer.

Spelling Bee

The annual Spelling Bee took place between 1st, 2nd, TY and 5th Year students in Woodlock Hall. As it is every year, the standard was very high. The first part of the contest was between Junior students (1st & 2nd years) and this was won by Monica Fayne of 2C. The Senior students (TY & 5th years) also competed and Miriam Akhilomen was victorious here. Congratulations to all that took part and to Mr. Turbitt who organised it and to Mr. Darbey & Ms. Kavanagh who were quizmasters.

This is a hard working group

2P recently visited Fighting Words (Roddy Doyle, Co.Founder and Chairman), a creative writing workshop to promote students creative writing skills. They worked together to develop characters. They established plots and added dialogue to complete a full story all under the watchful eye of skillful mentors.
The students attended with their teachers Miss Mac Hale, Miss Kavanagh and their SNA Claire Holland.
