Transition Years win Oracle 'Build an App' competition

And the Winners are!

On Thursday last, 19th October, ten Transition Year students from Rosmini attended a BUILD AN APP DAY at Oracle, Eastpoint Business Park. The day was a joint venture between Oracle and Business in the Community. John Donnelly, Country Manager with Oracle, started off the day by welcoming four schools. The schools present were Marino College, St Josephs C.B.S., O'Connells and Rosmini. All school groups then attended an innovation fair which was followed by a competition to build an app. Rosmini won the first prize of €500. Congratulations to the students on this great achievements. All students received €50 along with hats, USB sticks, notepads and pens. Rosmini's winning app was on helping the homeless with a working title of 'Home <' (Homeless).Thanks to Mr.Gavin and Richie McDonnell for accompanying the students and to Oracle and 'Business in the Community' and Germaine Noonan in particular. Once again congratulations to TY for a wonderful win. The students involved were Javier Jimenez, Aaron Keogh, Patrick Hennessey, Tuomas Bazzan, Francesco Tomassini, Lucia Chidovat, Sinead Burnett Keoghan, Louise Barry, Ilaria Serino and Hannah Yan.
