On Friday the 2nd of October Transition year students visited the Irish Aid Centre on Clonmel Street. They attended the centre as part of their TY religion course on Human Rights.
The aim of the aid programme is to reduce poverty and hunger, particularly in sub-Saharan Africa where the needs are greatest. By supporting long term development and providing humanitarian assistance in over eighty countries, on behalf of the Irish people, the Irish Aid Centre are helping to build better futures for some of the world’s poorest communities.
Students took part in an interactive workshop which helped them understand more about Aid and why it is important.
