Irish teenagers find exams more stressful than international students. According to research from the OECD, more than 63% of students interviewed felt anxious about stress even though they were well prepared.
A group of students from 1st to 6th year of Rosmini participated in a workshop to help combat these feelings of anxiety around exam time. They learned to identify the effects of negative stress on our mental, emotional & physical health. They also explored the common triggers of stress & anxiety in the lives of teenagers. In groups, students tried & tested a series of mindfulness techniques that have the benefits of reducing feelings of stress and anxiety, as well as building resilience and a positive mindset. They also shared useful tips for looking after their wellbeing over the next busy few weeks.
