Mindfulness is a practice that helps you to focus on your experience in the present, forgetting about the past and future, or time itself passing – as well as about any thoughts or emotions that enter your mind.
Every Monday afternoon, students of 3S practice mindfulness. This week we looked at how busy we often are watching out for what’s ahead of us in life, that we don’t take the time to enjoy where we are.
We took part in a Body and Breath meditation that allowed us to focus on our breathing and to bring ourselves fully into the present moment.
Students really enjoyed the experience and felt very relaxed afterwards.
Research shows that mindfulness can help to reduce our levels of stress and anxiety.
There is mindfulness meditation for all students every Monday from 1.20-1.40pm in the Resource cabin.
