First Years Win Tag Rugby Blitz

Well done to the first years on winning the best overall school merit award at the tag rugby blitz in Dublin City University last Friday (8 November 2013). Our first years have been learning about the game in their PE classes over the last six weeks. It was great to see such improvement with each game they played in. The Blitz was organised by the Leinster rugby development officer in conjunction with the DCU access programme. It was a great experience for our pupils to use the amazing facilities of the university. Around 10 schools from the surrounding area took part.

All pupils were treated to a fantastic lunch afterwards. Rosmini is very proud of all the pupils who took part, they played hard, played fair, supported each other and that's what teamwork is all about.
Many thanks to fifth years, Gerard McGucken, Peter Shanahan and Thomas Hughes, who were of great assistance to Mr McElwee and Mr Gallagher coaching the teams. Thanks also to Claire, Emma and Maire for all their help. We look forward to more great days out like this in the future. Go Rosser!
