As part of our Beat the January Blues initiative in Rosmini, we commenced a new programme called First Aid for the Mind on Monday 22nd January 2018 in the school. This programme is aimed at empowering young people to take charge of monitoring and protecting their own mental health.
Using the Irish Red Cross Youth resource pack, students will learn practical and simple steps to help them recognise the impact that their environment and lifestyle can have on their mental health. They will look at the importance of exercise, diet, rest and the support that family and friends can have in assisting positive mental health. This will be a combined programme of discussion and practical skills within a group work setting.
The Ember Team will assist me in the delivery of this programme. Their role is to provide hospitality, support and friendship to the students who take part.
First Aid for the Mind runs every Monday lunchtime from 13.05-13.40
