Rosmini progressed to the last 8 of the all ireland schools cup when they defeated Sligo grammar school by 86 points to 80 in Sligo. Rosmini came from 7 points down in the first quarter to lead 32 29 at half time. A great team effort ensured a sold 11 point lead after the 3rd quarter. Matt Treacy was the leading scorer hitting multiple three points. A good solid defence with some tight marking kept Sligo at bay. Riyad Aboudraa was very effective under our own basket , with some solid rebounding. The Mooney brothers, Mark and Ada, and Eoin Maxwell worked hard to put pressure on the sligo offence. Team fouls in the final quarter allowed Sligo to get back into the game but we held on to win by 6 points. The win puts Rosmini into the qurarter finals where we play Lurgan College, Belfast. Well done to all who made the long journey to the north west.
